Taste of Ghana

Come and join us for a very UNIQUE experience: 10 days from the North to the South of Ghana. In collaboration with @livetolearn_learntolive will bring you to the depth of amazing Natural Food Processing, Indigenous Knowledge, and Self-Sustainable Living.

This special 10 days event will take place in the breathtaking and stunning landscape of the North of Ghana, Tongo, a few minutes’ drive from Bolgatanga and our farm-stead and off-grid mini-village here in the Eastern Region.

It is a collaboration with Joshua Asiedu, on a mission to heal the Earth and therefore ourselves, by living self-sustainably within an eco/indigenous system. Joshua’s aim with Asaase Yaa in Mankrong Eastern Region is to retrace and preserve ancient indigenous wisdom and knowledge of sustainability such as natural building, organic farming, herbal medicine, pottery, food processing, and other indigenous artisanship that were inherently based on self-sustainability and independence.

In this event, in Bolga, we will dive into the art of natural food processing of the Guruni culture and of sub-tropical sustainable practices and hand-crafted delicacies. Accommodation will be provided in beautiful local vernacular homes with private rooms, built with mainly natural local resources, giving an incredibly natural and contemplating setting and environment.

Yummy, tasty local food will be provided daily.

Apart from enjoying the calmness of the natural beauty, in these first 5 days, you will also learn about:

  • Sorghum beverage making

  • Millet Maasa

  • Dawadawa

  • Koose (bean fritter)

  • Toubaani (steamed beans)

  • Kooko (fermented millet porridge)

  • Pottery (local bowl-making)

  • Market visit and tour

  • Organic Farm, and Indigenous seeds & MORE.

The last 5 days will be located in the very off-grid and self-sustainable farm-stead located in our ASAASE off-grid natural village, close to Mankrong.

In these 5 days, you'll dive into the art of fully reconnecting to Nature and Her elements.

Reconsider yourself and your being within the beauty of Nature while being exposed to notions about local farming techniques, natural building, self-sustainability, and an overall setting of off-grid living.

Accommodation will be provided in cozy private glamping tents, located in the farm-stead itself, giving a very harmonious and meditative setting.

Yummy vegan local meals will be served daily.

Apart from these very zen-like settings, you will also learn particularly about the following:

  • Peanut Butter from scratch hand-crafted

  • Cacao Bar/Ball from scratch hand-crafted

  • Coconut Milk from scratch hand-crafted
